Libido with test levels question

Here is my question - I have not done many cycles - I'm 38 - last July I started using just Anavar at 30mg a day (I have always gotten great results from this) - now at the same time I always take Cialis prior to sex regardless of using gear or not (I like the boost) - so in July when I started with the Anavar plus the Cialis it was like a MAJOR boost for about 2-3 weeks and then my dick got all fucked up even with Cialis so I quit - my questions is why was my sexual performance so greatly improved those first 2-3 weeks of taking Anavar?

My current test levels are:

Total Test: 644
Sex Hormone Bind Globulin: 41
Free Test: 5.50

I have not used anything since the fall. I am trying to achieve the sexual performance of the first 3 weeks of taking Anavar.

OK, after doing research it looks like maybe my "free test" is low but my "total test" is good - and it looks like this could likely be the cause?

* Too much free testosterone is being bound by SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin). This would be especially apparent if total testosterone levels were in the high normal range, while free testosterone was below the upper one-third range.

If this is the case how do I go about fixing it? thanks

Well......

Heres the thing...

You have an "in the range" testosterone level, yet are having trouble achieving an erection. Libido has more factors than simply Testosterone Level, although having a high testosterone level increases sex drive for many.

I am somewhat alarmed that you would take a steroid of 2 or 3 weeks only, and just for sexual enhancement. Oral Steroids are short acting by nature, and if your only motivation was to "supercharge" your Cialis, then you may not have been consistent with the amount or frequency of administration. Your body may have reacted negatively to the hormonal rollercoaster that you put it on.

Another thought- Even though Anavar is arguably one of the least suppressive drugs, its possible that the amoun that you took was enough to suppress your natural HPTA function and prevent your body from producing it's own testosterone.

At the same time, the doseage you took may not have been enough to provide complete androgen replacement, even though your body was no longer producing its own Test... Hence the half-assed sexual function.

Haphazard use of steroids for 2-3 weeks is irresponsible at best, and somewhat dangerous at worst. If you wanted to mix things up in the bedroom, you could have tried Cialis + Viagra. or Cialis + Dostinex (0.5mg 2-3x per week) and even added Viagra too.
Now... as for bringing your Libido back... Are your testicles atrophied from on-off use of steroids?

I'm guessing you went to the Dr. for your recent bloodwork, what did you tell him?

Thanks for answering - no, I stopped the Anavar after three weeks only because I felt it was fucking with my dick - I really wanted to run it for 12 weeks - but I was asking why do you think everything was so great the first three weeks? - now my libido is back to where it was but I want it to be like it was when I was first taking the Var - from my recent blood work it looks like my "free test" is too low? - how could I improve this? thanks for your help

Yep. Proviron wins.

To answer your question, Proviron will increase free test. Like Anavar, it's DHT derived, was made to help with sexual function in hypogonadal men.

Stupid question guys, but wont the Proviron act to further suppress testosterone in the long run?

yes I am sure it will handle the immediate problem while "on" but once he comes off he's gonna be shut down even more..................................?

proviron is not very suppressive at all, but as to why he gets a kick from the var in the first 3 weeks, my guess is that it goes away because he's getting suppressed, so that the first 3 weeks he has var + natural test, after 3 weeks his test starts to go down and so does his libido.

The proviron is used mostly by people who are doing heavy cutting cycles with no testo, it has a rep for keeping jimmyboy up all night

Ive used var for up to 10 weeks at 80mg/day libido was actually higher than normal all cycle btw

I think you'll find your answer in my original post :

Think of it like this.. You're at 100% normal testosterone... You add a dose of Anavar that is like 50% of the Test/Androgens you normally produce.... NOW you have 150% of the normal androgens in your body... Your libido is AWESOME!

Then... Your body realizes that it doesn't need to produce its own test, because you're getting it exogenously... So your natural production shuts down, and all you're left with is the low dose of Anavar.. Leaving you with 50% (these numbers are rough and arbitrary) of your normal test levels.

Weeks 1-3 = 150% function
Weeks 4-on = 50% function
Hence the crash.
