I've been force on a low carb, under around 100g a day mostly less, for about a year due to type 2 diabetes. I'm curious about you guys that do it for competitions, do you EVER feel full? I'm hungry within 1/2 hour of eating. I'm also cranky, though I can't say this is the only reason. I'm thinking of trying slin when I do my next large cycle. I've about had it......

I do zero carb diets or ultra-low carb (like 30 grams a day or less) and I don't really feel hungry because I can eat as much tuna, lean meat, fish, etc as I want.

what are your carb choices ? 100 g coming from broccoli is different than 100 g coming from oats ..

wake

I have the opposite effect

When I do low carb, my appetite goes away totally, provided the carbs I do eat come from broccoli, etc, and not higher glycemic carbs. Even if you limit carbs to 100 grams, having just 20 grams of high glycemic carbs can trigger that response that leaves you hungry again. It is not just the total amount of carbs but the type and what you ingest at the same time to mute the effects.

If you are feeling hungry, you are not consuming enough fats.

Forget the fats bro, follow big a's advice and just add more protein. Eca is also helping me suppress my appetite and add protein shakes with your meal.
Since following his diet plan, its only been 2 weeks so far but I have made the most dramatic changes and I never thought that I would be ready for competion which is now 6 weeks or so away but Im feeling more and more confident everyday that Im gonna make it.:)

You should be less hungry on a low carb diet, definately up the fats

how long have you been on this diet?
The cravings and hunger usually ease after a couple of weeks,if you stck to the diet.

i'm thinking he should add back for a while whatever has been lacking, whatever the macronutrient. don't know how to get around the diabetes, if this is total carbs on the day or just type of carbs. i had some evenings a few weeks ago where the rice and chicken and brocolli left me still feeling "empty", can of coke and i was just right.
