Yes, he was very close to Jay Cutler. That's how I learned about his passing, as Jay had mentioned it in his latest Jay Walking episode.

Note sure about OLM, but he was very active on MD. He mentioned Jay a few times there. Very nice guy, I even remember him hooking up some people from the MD board with Olympia tickets.

Alan mentioned Jay plenty, but it wasn't a clout or name-dropping thing..he was just excited to be part of it when he was able to help. It was never in a distasteful manner and just kind of similar to child-like excitement. One of the last times I saw him, he gave myself and my buddy who was a physician w/our company a ride in his pickup to In N Out in Vegas. This was 2011 or 2012 and he was headed home after an 11 hr day at the expo and wouldn't let us walk the mile or so there from our hotel. Just an all around good person!
