lil bro is getting it next week. they told him 8 weeks itl be fine.

I had my medial meniscus partially removed in my left knee about 15 years ago. Caused by a motorocylce accident in which it was torn. The knee bothers me occasionally with high weights or too much volume. From what I understand cartilage never regenerates so if you get some removed it will never be the same.

Hopefully that aint your problem bro.

I was reading your other thread as well as this one; what makes you think it is the meniscus and what are your specific symptoms? If in fact it is your meniscus, then depending on what the specifics of the damage is you could be back to normal in as little as a few weeks. Worst case scenario if it is only the meniscus that is involved would be several months, but it is a relatively easy surgery and as long as you have a good doc it is not bad at all. I want to emphasize that last point; make 100% sure you are seeing one of the top docs who does pro athletes. I see so many botched surgerys it is amazing.

I got mine repaired and then it tore again so they just removed it. I havent had any problems with it in a while, granted it gets pretty sore and swells up a little when i run alot but for the most part its good. If you have a question about knees go ahead and ask. Ive had 4 knee surgeries, 3 ACL reconstructions and 1 menisectomy(SP) where they removed the meniscus.

Good luck bro.
