Took my buddy in for his last vet visit. Always a hard thing to do. But i think he had a good life. A 1000 trips the the dog park in his early years till the chaos got to much for me (but not him). 10K miles put in for daily walks. Couple hundreds days hiking in the wilderness to the top of a mountain, high ridge or mushroom hunting, there was a short break when he needed a toe amputated but that only kept him down a few weeks. Lots of treats and good food. He wasn't a big fan of being petted as he figured a better use for the hands was to play laser pointer. He is missed. And the house is very quiet with him gone. But it is almost time for the gym. Life goes on.

Sorry bro. I know the feeling. Boxers are awesome.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I've been there a few times in the last couple of years. Its better to hurt for them, than for them to hurt for us.

He knew nothing but love and happiness with the life you gave him.

So sorry ta hear this my friend. I find it awesome on how an animal can really be a part of the family. It's amazing how close you can get. I feel your remorse. My wife and had to make one of the hardest decisions to make with our last pup. He passed in our arms and when he took his last breath I freaking lost it. It was best for him at the time. He was a great dog and it's been a few years and he is still missed.

In the end ask yourself....'Did I give my friend the best life I could give him?'. Just from your sentiments it sounds like you did. Be proud that you gave him the life you did.

Take care. I understand buck, 2 years ago i lost my beautiful Pomeranian after 14 years. Im single, never married no kids, live alone, he was my whole world.

Sorry for your loss and he's been a part of your life for a long time so he'll be a memory in your heart. It's rough to not have him by your side anymore and those hikes you took with him won't feel the same anymore.
