I have a family history of low HDL too, luckily I do not have a family history of heart disease though.
Along with what Massive G has said, which I take those as well here is what I have been taking for the last two years with much success:
1000mg no flush niacin
500mg Phsyillium husk tabs
1g Fish oil
1g Sesamin
No odor garlic
per what Dante recommended I replaced my baby aspirin with bromelain
At 12 weeks out from my show this year I my cholesterol was 173 total with 42 HDL...Two years ago it was half that ...
I am sure I am missing some things that I take but these are the staples
Hope that helps buddy! Hope you are well on your way to recovery with your injuries I remember you saying that you had surgery on shoulder? bicep?
2 glasses of red wine a day..
