Welcome to PM! There is a wealth of info here that will help you with your goals. Sit down, buckle up and start reading lol!
To get you pointed in the right direction though...
Don't start your cycle until you are leaner. Drop your 25lbs or whatever you have to lose first. BUT that's pretty easy. A 36 year old dude should be able to do that no prob if your hormones are ok.
SO, start working out. TOMORROW. 30 min. fasted cardio EVERY DAMN DAY. Low intensity, nothing that hard. Like take your dog for a walk kind of thing. Your recovery most likely sucks so train with weights for 3 times a week starting out. Push pull legs split. Don't worry about any isolation movements. you should focus on:
Dips
Chins
Squats
Bench(don't touch the bar to your chest)
deadlifts
standing overhead press
barbell rows.
So on your push day you could do, chins(always start a workout with chins. just do a few if that's all you can do), bench, OH press, dips and GET OUT. Like 2 or 3 working sets for each of those. Don't go to failure, but get close.
Legs do lying and/or seated leg curls, then squats, then calf raises.
Pull days, do chins some more but focus on them. Try to hit 50 reps each session but do it in less sets each time. Then do some BB rows and finish with some deads.
While this is going on get your labs done. See what your liver values and cholesterol are. Get your T checked etc. That way you know where you are starting and have a baseline.
I don't know if you are into cars or not, but it's like turbocharging an NA motor. First things first. you want to make sure the motor is healthy first. Good compression, not leaking or burning anything. Once all the general maintenance is done you can go ahead and turbo that thing. Some turbo motors run forever some pop fairly soon. It's all in the TUNE.
