O/T. heartless jackasses who do harm to animals!

okay so i am an HUGE animal lover. got two dogs of my own. . Love animals like no tomorrow. I consider my animals as part of my family and treat them as such. I get very pissed off when I see people do harm to animals.

so I am driving to the movies tonight and its 10pm and on the way I am driving a little poodle jumps out in front of my car off the side of the road. I swerve to miss it and lucky i do but the poor thing is obviosuly scared and the truck behind me which is about 5 car lengths doesnt swerve to miss it and hit the poddle and kills it.

This in itself is bad but whats worse is the person didnt even pull over to see if the dog was still alive. They just kept on driving like it was no big deal. This really pissess me off. So i slow down and wait for this person to catch up with me and who do I see int his red ford pick up..... some BITCH TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE!!! Now I am really pissed. I yell and scream at her to pull over to let her know what she did and she obvioulsy cant hear me so i take doen her license plate number and call the police to let them know what happened.

what does the police do......nothing. they take the info and say thank you. WTF? is there no laws against animal cruelty like a hit in run. I am from florida but live in a real hillbilly redneck piece of shit area where I guess they dont treat or care about animals. that shit pisses me off. If I would have had a slurpee from 7/11 or milkshake from wendy's or something I would have waited at the stop light and threw it all over this bitches car for hitting that poor dog and then just going on like its no big deal.

sorry to vent but that shit really pisses me off. that little dog had a right to live. the fucking bitch should have at least attemped to miss the animal. If I could see it so could she!

just spent all night at the vets office my dog got poisoned because somebody left some "rat poison" shit deliberately because they obviously had nothing better to do with their miserable lives...dogs can get poisoned from this even by just inhaling it...my dog seems better now but is still very tired from last night and all the heat...

i dont think people like this understand the extreme risk theyre taking by hurting other peoples pets...to some its like you hurt their child...i dont understand them and i dont want to i just want to find out who did it...god forbid i find out who did it...

no offenses to anyone, i've seen animals dying infront of me specially dogs and man they werent even able to make a scream just lied on road and shaked a bit and then they were gone, the dogs with that dog were staring at dying but dog but didnt dare to get to him as it was very busy road, i aint much animal lover but this made me turn my head towards other side as well because it wasnt easy to look at some living thing dying, when i was a kid i wept alot when my birds would die ( but i was a kid ).
As i said i aint a big animal lover ( i sometimes hunt too & i love eating lots of meat ) but i wanted to ask are there some animal lovers like on this site www.zoolib.tv it makes me shake my head but are there animal lovers like those?

I've always wondered how to answer the question if your dog was drowning along with a complete stranger who would you save first? My dog is like my kid. She's a 3 year old Boxer. If anyone even laid a finger on her I would beat them silly. On the same note she is a sweetheart and would never hurt anything or anyone on purpose. It's funny cause I was never a dog person before I got my own. My family never had dogs. But now having my own I understand the connection and will always have dogs in my life. Out here in OZ we have a lot of native kangaroos and it's smaller cousin the Wallaby. I was driving along and in front of me three cars up a lady hit a Wallaby and never even braked. I got to it and slowed down, pulled over, waited for traffic to clear and removed the dead Wallaby from the road. Now part of the laws of this land is you are supposed to do What I just did. More importantly you are supposed to check the animals pouch for a young one. Sure enough there was a baby Wallaby in this one's pouch. I pulled the "Joey" as they are called from the pouch placed it in a towel and drove straight to my vets office. The Joey was fine, a little shaken but unhurt. The lady that hit the Wallaby should have stopped, it was her obligation to do so. It just shows how heartless some people are. I was able to spare one of our native animals from a slow cruel death. That Joey would never have left it's mothers pouch otherwise.

Hey mav, I'm with you on the cruelty to animals... Nothing pisses me off more than someone purposely hurting a defenseless animal for no reason... And yes the woman you are talking about purposely killed that dog, because she could have swerved to miss him... When I was a kid I had a chow chow, and I loved that dog more than anything... Well this redneck asshole from my neighborhood was drinking one night and being the usual dumb prick that he was actually ran off the road to hit my dog and kept on going.... I was so upset... The moron actually had the nerve to come to our house the following day and try to apologize for hitting my dog... My grandfather was a no nonsense old school guy and he told the prick if he didn't get off his property he was going to do to him what he did to my dog...
As for Michael Vick, he is nothing more than a peice of shit thug, who would be climbing out of someones window with a tv if he wasn't playing football... I was wondering the same thing. It's unfortunate that sometimes animals get hit in the roadway, but it is far more dangerous to swerve a vehicle at highway speed.

The poor cat dragged on, kept living even though I had run right over it. It was a very sick experience to hear the labored breathing of the cat, and to watch it suffer. At the vet's office they put the animal down, and it was thus able to rest in peace. No more pain. So just because you run over an animal,dont figure it is dead. It is highly inhumane to leave an animal to suffer in the street. Animals deserve the right to not suffer in pain, just as much as human beings. So please stop your car and go back to check on the animal.

I am really glad that I listened to my wife, shes the one that made me turn back. I figured it had to be dead, and didnt really want to go see the gruesome aftermath of being run over. You have to overcome your fear and put the animal's wellfare first. I am so glad we went back.

I think it's pretty heartless to kill someone's pet and drive away. I hope I never have to hurt anyone for doing that to one of my pets. Did anyone else get this? Even still, I can't just mindlessly run down an animal. My instinct is to avoid hitting it. This instinct probably came from neanderthals driving at high speeds through grasslands crowded with little prehistoric furry critters... Those poor little Brachycrus.

They tell you not to swerve because in theory, the animal knows what it is doing and once you throw off it's trajectory, you fuck it all up.

I guess a dog wont actually run into your car, although it might come close. Once you swerve away, you have to swerve back at some point, and the little fella gets squished.

Yeah, I think this feeling stems from the fact that animals are innocent and hold no ill will toward anything. People on the other hand kill each other for reasons such as rage and lust.
