So, probably like most here, I typically have a cheat day one day a week. For me, it's usually Sunday's... pizza, or Indian or Chinese food. Pizza yesterday, not too bad, a few slices, a couple brownies and a bowl of cereal.

BUT... dum-dum-DUM!... This is "Nurses Week." Nurses typically often "self-medicate" our stress with food, lots of carbs. Several times a week you can find some kind of sweet on the breakroom table. But with Nurses Week, the food ABOUNDS...

I walked in this morning to find this...

ALL day it was calling me... Get some Milk, go EEEEEEEAAAAAAAT! 12 hours of agony. Sip some chocolate LBA's, get over it... NO! Not enough! I want it! I want it!

Victory! For today at least... it's going to be a long week.

Clarification: I DIDN'T CHEAT... that's why I said "Victory!"

Personally i am not drawn to sweets. When i look at stuff like that all i can think of is how horrible that stuff is for what your goals are. I could see that all day and walk right past it.
 
naturally i am not very lean. the thought of getting fat keeps me away. Never crosses my mind to indulge.

i know guys who eat crap like this and are ripped lucky bastards.
 
Fug it. Id eat everything...eat it all, then get sick, then barf in the plant at the end of the hall.
 
I try to have a cheat meal every other day just to keep me sane. Just one meal and its not horrible by anymeans.

Sweet tooth all my life... seriously I wonder sometimes if my neuropeptide Y is way off. From over the years, ever since being a kid, I know one big aspect of my always having difficulty getting lean is that I'm certain I have a decent degree of insulin insensitivity.
 
hHAHAAHAH I am a BSN RN in the NICU and today I brought two things of cupcakes, and resees PB cookies.. im 2 weeks out.. there was pizza, pulled pork bbq, EVERYTHING.

I would put it in my mouth, chew it, and spit it out lmao.

Every wednesday at my work its bring food day. The breakroom is nuts. Poptarts, cakes,cookies,pizza,etc... its torture. I go to the fridge to get my gay ass chicken and rice and have to walk through a valley which is basically better than any pussy anyday. Luckily during the day my cheat urges are not as bad as at night.
 
I was just looking at the pic of the coffee cake for like three minutes....

lucky for me the food the guys here bring to work are just meat pies and sausage rolls, I can resist that.

same here, I see this everyday at my job... Ive never craved pastries or sweets like this... never.. ..

now if they have pizza upstairs I might grab a slice...
my cheat meals are simple... maybe a burger or some mexican food... thats about it...

I'm with you Myo - sweets are my weakness. I feel your pain bro. I work in an office with lots of ladies and everyday there are eithe rmultiple dishes of homemade sweets (cakes, cookies, brownies, etc,) and/ or Bagels from Panera and/or Donuts from the local bakery. Shit kills me!

And as far as your goals, etc, etc, :rolleyes: research leptin levels/ refeeds! ;) Assuming of course you are follwoing a correct diet day-in/ day-out.
 
Note to self: Do NOT open pics that are labeled "Cake.jpg" when dieting, only a week out from a show.

Phid- I totally hear and understand you friend. I agree all the way. On the other hand, I should maybe "personalize" this a bit more for better context...

From a personal stand point- Right now, it's somewhat more about a "contest" with myself... it's always been a fight for me and I hate feeling "weak". It's one thing to have a craving and maybe a bite... but I'm such an "all or none" person I would've eaten TOOO much there. I had my "cheat day" Sunday and I didn't want to make excuses or false justifications to eat the sweets. I'm really trying to lean down for myself and for family... I want to be a good example for my kids as they grow up.

At the same time, if I'm out with friends or family, I'm not so neurotic that I won't allow myself something "half-way decent"... wings, a burger, etc.

From a practical standpoint- carbs make me totally sleepy... not a good thing when you're working in the ICU! hahaha

PS- still waiting for my Mango's :D
