omeprazole

what does everyone think of losec (omeprazole) do many of you guys take this i have been on it for years and seems like im stuc on it, is there a healty alterinatve? one funny thing i have notice is since i have had a month off it i have not had on anxiety attack, and if you look at the list of side affects they are large for what tey say is meet to be safe. Looks kike im going to have to go back on it cause my stomach is killing me but domt really want to lol.

I have been on it since it came out over twenty years ago and was prescription Prilosec. I have tried numerous other remedies to no avail. I was told by more than one doctor that their is only one possible surgery that may or may not fix the problem. I take it daily without thought for more than twenty years, If I dont I get brutal heartburn that kills me. I guess I will forever need the little purple pill.

I didn't know you could stay on it that long, it does help me immensely so I try to use it for two weeks on two weeks off. I have had to change my diet though, no coffee anymore, that really irritates my acid reflux.

Its safe to stay on forever. I have a heital hernia (SP). Basically a tear in my esophagus which is why i have acid reflux. Prilosec (Omepresole) is great for me. I was taking one every day now i take one every 2 or 3 days just depending on my level of acid reflux.

No ulcer just have always had bad acid refux more i increased my food intake the worse it got, been on it for more than 6years 20mg every day. But if you read up about it it can hinder uptake of some vits/min which has always worried me.

It's very rare, but you have to watch for gyno with prilosec and nexium. Nexium works great with me. When I first went on Nexium, I started to notice I was getting gyno despite not having touched anything for years. I was on double the normal dose, I cut back to half and it went away and didn't give me any more issues. I've ran into a few others that got the beginnings of gyno on prilosec and nexium, tagamet(cimetidine) is actually the worst of the 3 for it. Like I said, 98% chance it won't effect you, but if you start getting gyno with no more obvious reasons, it could be your culprit.

i was prescribed lanzoprosole which was a fruity flavoured tablet which you sucked until dissolved. i have just noticed my doctor has changed the script to the omeprazoles and i dont know why.

is it the same product??

my acid reflux got so bad 6 months ago i had to start on something

It has never not worked for me over the last 20 years, unlike so many other meds or supps it stays just as effective today as the first time I took it.Its a lifesaver.
