I'm going in on Thursday morning to have 2 teeth implanted. I was born without both lateral incisors (as were my mom and both brothers - damn you genetics!). After years of braces to correct my central incisors (the two front teeth) which were far apart to overcompensate for the lack of the teeth next to them, surgery to remove that little string that connects your upper lip to your upper gums (the name escapes me), and years of wearing a retainer which had two fake lateral incisors on the bar - its finally time to shell out a few thousand bucks to get these bad boys implanted.
So. Does anybody have any experience with dental implants, and do you have any words of encouragement for me? The procedure seems like a bit of a pain in the ass, but I'm hoping it isn't too bad...
