Pete Carroll to Seattle Seahawks!!??

Wow, I didn't see this coming. I think Pete Carroll tried the NFL route once before but was not succesfull and went to the USC were he created a powerhouse college team for years.

Do you think its going to be a failure or flourish greatly this time around due to his past and learned from his mistakes?

We have seen this before with Nick Saban. Outstanding college coach. Pros not so hot. Not sure if this is due to thier abilty or if the players not willing to give it their all or the overhead?

Pete was in the NFL before. Couldnt make it. But now he has more experience and im sure will do fine. I HATE USC but speaking truthfully, he will probably do ok. He had it made at USC and i would have stayed but the allure of the NFL draws them in.

No way. Sabin will stay put and stay in the SEC. I bet they get the Oregon State coach. They need someone from the west coast to keep the recruiting. The Oregon State coach will be a great fit.

Lol in college football these programs even the big ones get screwed over by these coaches yearly it seems some big coach leaves somewhere high and dry...

Kinda Weird that he took the job, Over the last couple of years he has had chances to take NFL Jobs but would shoot it down and wouldn't even listen to the offers, Some of the jobs he could of had were right there in California. But he's a good coach and Has a decent team with seattle. Just missing a few pieces.

7M a year and never proved himself in the pros. He'll win about 5 games a year in Seattle....

Kinda Weird that he took the job, Over the last couple of years he has had chances to take NFL Jobs but would shoot it down and wouldn't even listen to the offers, Some of the jobs he could of had were right there in California. But he's a good coach and Has a decent team with seattle. Just missing a few pieces.

I think a lot has to do with the bullshit that keeps getting brought up about the recruiting violations. There is probably some merit to some of it and he figurers it's time to get while the gettings good.

he needs to be in complete control which is possible in NCAA but not NFL!

He also gets the title of "President". They are going to hire a general manager but pete is head coach, president, and makes all the staff decisions as well as the draft decisions.

I bet USC gets Jack Del Rio for the next head coach. He is jobless right now and is a USC alum!

Yeah ur prob right...espn was saying it wouldnt be a shock to them if a bunch of stuff started coming out about recruitiing violations, But if i was him i would of taken a job last year or the year before that.

And Jack Del Rio might take the job,but he still has a job,he was never fired from the jags...

Sorry i should have worded that differently. Jack is still with Jacksonville but his butt is on the hot seat. But he would probably be a good fit at USC.
