So I've been reading on their products, steaks, chicken, eggs etc and they appear to be "natural" as the sight says no antibiotics, vegetarian diet, free range. So what you do you guys think? Should I just try to find a farm that has grass fed beef and another with free range chicken for the chickens & eggs? Or would the Greenwise be good to go?

To label some "organic" means (by government standards) that it meets certain criteria.

"natural" however does not have any government standards. animals that are "natural" may still be fed grain based diets (mainly corn). See the documentary "food inc".

The healthy choice is GRASS fed beef.

Publix greenwise is probably better than regular but not as good as organic/grass fed.

So do you believe that every company that says "Grass Feed" means that that cow was on grass for life since there is no federal regulation that says it has to mean that?

i think as long as the cattle eat 1 grass feed meal a day then they are considered "grass fed"...

so back to the topica, so you don't think that the greenwise product is grassfed? I should probably just go to a farm that has grass fed right?

As far as free range chicken and eggs, we don't have any of those near me, so the greenwise would be the only choice for that

I'm fairly sure that its not grass fed beef....

Whole Foods has grass fed beef if you have one of those near u.

We buy the Publix Greenwise product for just about everything. However, some of what they sell is 'Natural' and some is 'Organic'. I believe the beef and chicken have a label of Natural while the milk and eggs are certified organic. I'll have to double-check. We'd like to go with grass-fed organic from a local farm here in the south, but it's quite an investment to make it a cost-effective purchase.

yeah, the nearest grass fed farm is about a 2 hour drive for me. There is one closer, but they only sell quarters Whenever I get a big enough freezer I will be making that purchase
