My question/concern about cinnamon is how "specific" does it increase insulin sensitivity? In other words- does it increase insulin sensitivity in muscle AND fat equally or one more than the other?
While the human study from Pakistan showed that it has great benefits as far as lipid profile and fasting glucose, there was no mention about how skeletal muscle was affected.
There was one study that used rats where the insulin sensitivity was increased by 17% in their muscle... but again, it was rats (carryover to humans is not always 1:1- i.e. rats don't get lung cancer from cigarette smoke).
What are your thoughts?
