question for judges

What is the correct way to stand in a side quarter turn shot. Arms at side to see beck thickness compared to front thickness or twisted to show small waist. I always here arms at your side from the head judge but at bigger show they let them twist as much as they want. Could someone elaborate on this please.

I've noticed that. So this must mean that the judging is different at smaller shows than big shows correct? What exacly are the judges looking for in the sided quarter turns. How small the waist looks if twisted around or how equally proportioned the back is to the chest if they say arms at your side please. Can someone please explain. Thanks

your supposed to have arms to your size and I have stopped shows before with excessive twisting around since it is hard to judge/compare contestants with everyone wiggling around different ways........it usually depends on the Head Judge.....

The pro's have their arms all over the place and get away with it. But if you are an NPC athlete competing at the state level expect to keep yours arms at your side.

I'm preparing for the Jr. Nationals in June. I'm 220 lbs right now and plan on comming in between 195-198 lbs. I was 175lbs in the above pics. Anyone that may be interested in helping me form here on out please let me know. I'm going for first place and Trey Brewer better be shredded if he wants the overall..

Twist a bit ..arms at the side looks stupid..do as much as you can get away with. If one guy is twisting and the other guy is not the twisting guy looks much better. Make the judges move you back.
