Reusing the draw pin

I have never done this before but I see a number of vets here say they do. I am wondering who does this and how you sterilize the needle in between draws. I take it you don't leave it in the rubber stopper between draws.

I will be doing ED injections and am thinking of reusing the draw pin, then again the price of a pin is so small maybe not.


Thoughts?

I have done it on a lot more than one occassion, but never do now. I use multi-use vials for starters, but for the cost of a pin (like you say) why bother? Plus I draw with like a 19g or 21g and shoot with a 21g or 23g. IronMike

I use the same one but I clean it with alcohol every time. This does take a while but when I was looking for a draw pin it seemed to take a long time to find one. Now I am just used to reusing and cleaning. At least I know that it will be clean since I have the routine down pat. clean pin, draw aas, switch pins, clean inj area, shoot, and clean area again for good measures. Easy as that

like Mike S's iway personally even ckleaning the pin used with alcohol you stillgotta leave it lying around, just dont like the idea......NEVER EVER SHOOT WITH THE DRAW PIN, LOL Always Re-up with a fresh one befoe nailin your hide.

Using the draw pin to inject LOL!!! That is like tryin to shove a gardan hose through your skin OUCH!!! 23g is just fine by me. No less

I'll stick with my 25's & just push a little harder to get it in, I guess it also slows down how fast I inj (the slower the better, right xcel?)

Get an empty prescription bottle fill with alcohol and put the draw pin in after each use.Refill alcohol as necsasary.

I will use a draw pin indefinately but clean with alcohol every time.
I used to use 25g-its too damn hard to shoot with. 23s for me.

God I hate to even hear someone joke about not cleaning a pin.
I had a friend die from a septic infection (endocarditis of the heart valve) because of this.

Hey haven't posted in awile but I always check in anyways I know a dude that got a staph infection from this but he used it for 6 months straight. Anyways I wouldn't do it
