I see so many guys doing t-bars or bent barbell rows, and they got so much weight on there they're practically standing up. It appears they are performing more of a shrug than a row. I am anal about form. I like being bent @ a 90 degree, back flat, and a good mind muscle connection. And it's no surprise I can only use a fraction of the weight that way. So which way builds more muscle? On one hand a guy can use heavy weight but his ROM is compromised. And on the other hand a guy can use lighter weight with full ROM and better MM connection.
My lats lag. That's why I'm asking.

Do you progress in weight on tbar rows?

and are you referring to back width or thickness, cause bent over rows is thickness, width would be pullups.

ego

what are you trying to develop? muscle or ego? i'm with you on this one, proper technique over stroking your ego with ridiculous weights. as for your lat development do a search for rack chins. i'll try to find a link for you. here ya go.....

aren't there two types

The 90 degree type which hits the lower lats, erectors and hamstring more, like Franco Columbo would always do. Then there is the 45 degree Yates style that puts a lot of focus on traps rear and rear delts as well as lats. Both are great!
