It's nice having the friends I've met here over the years. I also like showing that lifters aren't all meatheads who stare in the mirror all day long and do little else worthwhile.

On a serious note- Many of my students are out with Swine Flu.

I am freaked out because so many come to school sick! The teacher immediately across the hallway came to school today looking like death warmed over. His whole family has it and he was out for week. He lost 20 pounds and is still sick.

I had one girl go to the office today cause she couldn't stop coughing. 101 degree fever.

It sucks that she has it. I am no doubt going to get the H1n1 virus. It's a matter of time.

The reason people are so willing to help you and Meredith out is bc you are such great people and impact us all in such a positive manner. You both are stand up people and treat others as they should be and provide everyone with such inspiration on how you carry yourself through everyday life.

Lol. The rez is pretty much federally funded. Trust me there are very few jobs here, so the tax base doesn't yield much locally.

See that room I am in? New. I have 12 sinks and high speed internet, the best of everything.

Send me your powders. [Now that's a joke, I am TOTALLY against all those type of supplements! lol]

This little guy is just off the wall and all the other teachers bitch and moan about him. He normally screws off and is "hyperactive". I have zero problems with this kid.

I find fun stuff for him to do and use that energy of his to make my job easier.

Here he is up at my desk on the computer. My computer is hooked up to an overhead projector on the ceiling. I typed in "Dogfish Dissection" on google and it displayed the whole lab! Shows where to make the incisions, what to look for- everything!

I let this goofy little guy run the projector and tell the other kids what to do.

He does all his work and loves me. I always save all his work and amaze the other teachers! The comment I get from the staff, "ERIC DID THAT?!"

I secretly gloat about it. Well, not so secretively now.

I try to have a good time while attempting to make sure we learn something.

I say "we" because I don't always remember every darn thing and still learn new things constantly.

My problem is I start laughing all the time and things can get out of hand.

I had to go over "safety in the lab" once again with my 3rd Period. Little suckers don't seem to grasp the toxic nature of the chemicals these lab specimens are stored in. Toxic, toxic, toxic. I had the exhaust fan on all day and I am still feeling sick.

That girl in the dark shirt, the bigger girl, SMART. One of those kids who I recognize right off the bat as more intelligent than I am. All kinds of potential there. I hope she goes to medical school.

I have to agree!. If all the people are like JT, then I know I have come to the right site! Nice to know we have people (bro's) that can handle themselves like adults, not giving this passion (sport) such negativity that it generates via such genuine "meat heads" who make the good look bad.

I almost quit last year. I was SO PISSED OFF. I had a girl whose mom was in prison for selling drugs. She has no dad. The girl kept coming to class late and was loud. She was a junior and since she'd flunked other bio classes, they put her in mine.

One day she came in late and I asked her to please get her book, quiet down, and get to work.

She continued to be disruptive. I asked her again to please let me do my job and quiet down.

Finally she had her cell phone out and was talking loud and I told her to either sit down and get to work or get the h*ll out.

Well, she went down the hall telling everyone that I'd "FREAKED OUT" AND TOLD HER TO GET THE F*CK OUT."

It gets worse. She ran into one of these enabling "touchy-feely" staff members who asked her what was wrong. The girl then said that I had grabbed her leg and told her that "she was so f*cking sexy"....

Imagine that? I was EXTREMELY PISSED. Trouble is the principals have to "investigate" all such claims. Luckily all the kids they interviewed said that whole story of hers was bullshit.

It amounted to an angry student lashing out. Any teacher can lose their job in the blink of an eye over anything like that.

I mainly came back because I don't want to lose my house. I had a ton of kids offer to beat her down, etc.

On top of all that the girl looks like that comedian Margaret Chow...only fatter and more bloated.

All the good looking girls were showing up at my room saying stuff like, "We know she's a liar Mr. Tull. You've never made me feel uncomfortable and I am hot!"

That cracked me up.

Long story short- I am about done with this profession. lol. I hope I have done a good job with the kids. I try.

The guy who owns the board is a good guy. He's chosen moderators that try to weed out the idiots and negative folks who are prone to "indiscretions". lol.

I actually get a kick out of some of those guys too. There are MANY great competitors on the board. Once in a while I cruise through other boards and you get a lot of horseshit and immature b.s.

She's doing much, much better. I talk to her every day. I also applied for job on the weekends where you take kids out hiking, fishing, etc. These kids are wards of the state, or placed in institutions because they broke the law or whatever.

This will be a weekend job and I'll be able to travel down to see her more often. It will be 30 additional hours on the weekends, and a ton of driving, but I am going to try to do it. 70 hrs. per week. lol.

Don't mean to scare you JT, but As I told you before,be careful. Some
who get it experience flu like symptoms. others like myself the symptoms
can be extremely serious and last a lot longer. I'm still not well going

I feel the same way. don't let one bad kid ruin it for others who
really want to learn and you seem to be they're best hope right now.
