SHIPPING COST!??!?!

ok.. i know that shipping costs have gone up.. i work for a box store and ship stuff all day long and see the shipping quotes.. but, wow..
i was looking for a hammer strength seated utility bench.. when i owned my gym i had one and loved the thing.. very comfortable and felt right with eth 75 degree lean ect.. so i went to a couple of used equipment stores on line.. i found one.. it was going for 175.00 un refurbished.. awesome.. now i go to check out and BAM!!.. 200 DOLLARS FOR SHIPPING.. WTF??.. I CALL THE COMPANY AND THEY CONFIRM.. now the bench new is like 450.00.. buty, 200.00 dolllars to ship a 30-40 pound bench?.. looks like i might have to settle for the one at newyorkbarbells.. they want 199.00 shipped.. not the one i want but, damn?!?!?!?!?!?

It sucks. That keeps me from buying things like that. I've been looking for a used Concept 2 rowing machine. There have been some good deals on Ebay but shipping is usually $150. Many companies are still hitting customers with a fuel surcharge. I don't think that's going away any time soon.

Sounds like ebay . . . you get a bettre base price on things, but the shipping and mandatory insurance brings it up to the original price.

Sounds like they are trying to make money on the shipping costs....I build a product that weighs in the neighborhood of 100 pounds and it only costs me $50 - $60 to ship them half way across the country...

Fedex and Ups

I work with these companies all day the consumer has only seen 10% increase in Fedex charge this year that is (Overnight,2nd day,3day super saver, and Ground) Ups is another deal they had about 20%. Sounds like companies are making of shipping charges go to FEDEX.COM and go under Get Rates and Transit Times put in weight your zip code and theirs and you will see exact cost?

Its not only the weight it also depends on the size of the box, I’m an avid cyclist and it cost just over $100 to ship my bike to San Diego and with the box it cant weigh much more than 20lbs
