Short 15-0 min spot on HBO SPORTS about female bodybuilding

I just caught this yesterday afternoon. It is worth watching I think. It gets into how tough women's bodybuilding is since there is such a large social stigma attached to it and how low the financial reward is. The one pro they talk to competed in the Arnold. The story gets into what the women have to do to make a living at the sport, hence the video websites etc.

I was very surprised how the one pro openly admitted taking steroids on national tv. I guess LE doesnt mess with them? She flat out came out and told HBO that she is using. I hope LE doesnt mess with her.

It was sad to see how gear had masculinized some of them to the point of looking like men with long hair. Talk about having some problems in the future.
It really surpirsed me with how little they get in winnings and why they still want to do it for nothing.

One of the pros they talked to sounded like she felt just the same as most guys, shes always too small and needs more size etc. She had the same drive to get bigger as we all do. I think that is what is at the heart for a lot of them. You definitely dont do bodybuilding for the money, that applies to either sex but even moreso for the women. It really is a travesty that the women are paid so very little.

There gear and gh would cost more each year then what the winners actually recieved.

I would imagine alot of them do theat muscle worship crap just to make money for there gear.

There is probably more money spent for the prize money, for women bodybuilding, than the amount they actually produce in marketing. There is just a very small market for women's bodybuilding.

Some of the gals in this game are so damn tenacious and they really do have to work much harder than the guys to get what they have. I do not feel sorry for them, I do not think that is the right chioce of words. I have the upmost admiration for their dedication and drive. They get very little respect and even less money. I have a ton of respect for them. I have known a few female bber over the years and they are real sweethearts most of them.
