So I just pulled 1.5cc of fluid from my knee...

Am I an idiot?

I have been working a lot on my feet lately(~90 hours this week) and I could move the fluid around with my fingers over the skin. I used a slin pin to pull out 1.5cc of yellowish fluid. Anyone else done this on their own before? What's the follow up on this? Thanks.

dont worry bud. when i had severe knee damage my doc showed me how to drain my knee it was nothin for me to take 30-50 ccs of fluid out. i should state i would do it at work ima paramedic/firefighter lol you must have something wrong in yoru knee but a 1.5 cc of fluid is nothin take some motrin like 800mg every 4-6 hours that will help

You should be fine. Take an anti-inflamatory and take it easy on it. Bright yellow to normal yellow is ok. When it comes out reddish from blood that is when you tore something. Also, if it coagulates and is somewhat thicker than water that is a good sign as well.

Good to see other "self surgeons" on the board. I usually do my own "surgeries" lol. I have stitches myself up before, drained an abscess, lanced a boil, and cut out a wart. Sometimes I just cant justify paying a doctor 100 bucks to do what I can do myself.

Although some stuff is best left to the doc.
