I'd like an answer to this as well. It's my understanding that there are some products that are effective at protecting the skin from becoming stretched, but once you have stretchmarks, aren't they permanent?

i have used BIO OIL stretchmark formula, it did help a little.

Just read something on "Sweet Almond Oil." suppose to be very good for stretch marks. Use it as a massage oil, DO NOT INGEST IT!!!

From my experience nothing will make them less noticable than time. After awhile they will turn from the red color to white and will blend in better. Nothing can make them smaller. Back when I first started bodybuiding as a tenn I developed these all over my body, especially the inner thigh. I tried lots of things: coco butter, vitamin a, vitamin e, retin a and a few others and nothing worked. The stretch marks on my inner thigh were so bad that they would start to tear open and bleed whenever i did a squat workout! Dermatologist was unable to help me .

Damn bro, I've never heard of stretch marks tearing open. You must have been doing some serious growing..

Get a tan. I know that's not what you are looking for, but it's the best way to make them appear less than what they are. I also read that Retin-A may help diminish. Look into it.

I would suggest palmer's coco butter...(with the pregnant chick on the front) I ex foliate the damaged area using this rough bath mits...during my shower and apply it immediately after I am dry/ first thing in the morning and pre workout... works wonders for not only diminishing the appearance but also helping the skin stretch...

Stretch marks only lighten, they never go away. u may wanna try like some lotion designed to lighten facial blemish. i think walgreens has a whole section. There is also Stri-vectin at gnc...but it fairly expensive like 120 bucks.

A client of mine that is a surgeon told me a while back that creams & lotions will not help stretch marks once you get them. The key is in prevention. He said that the most common problem is zinc deficiency. If you take 25 - 30 mg / day of zinc picolinate, zinc gluconate or use ZMA that you can possibly prevent most stretch marks. If you have exceptionally rapid weight gain or loss, then it is most likely unavoidable regardless of zinc status.

i had my wife apply cocoa butter 2x daily and after just a few weeks i noticed them to start diminishing, they wont go completely away though.... however im on cycle right now and their starting to look bad again so I should start applying again.

QS does make a point though, the cocoa butter and lotion before hand will allow skin to expand without the scarring effect

Yeah, its no joke when you look down on your legs and you see blood. They really did break open and bleed. The skin that stretches over the tears is so thin, you can see tiny fiberous bands running across the span inside the skin. Tiny little lines. The skin would tear inbetween these bands.

and plus do yall think ronnie coleman or some other pro has stretch marks? i mean hell youd think they would but i cant find any in their pictures...are the edited???
