I’m going in for surgery early next week to repair a detached tricep tendon on my right arm. I’m 42yrs old. Been lifting hard for 22yrs. This is my first major injury that will involve surgery. Oddly enough, this didn’t even occur in the gym. Did it at home training horses.
It was a complete detachment with the little bone chunk that ripped off also.
Doc says I can’t use my arm at all for 6wks. He says 2.5-3 months to return to lifting.
Any of you had this same surgery? What were you able to get done in the gym during your recovery time? Did you work your opposite side at all? Any lifts that you were able to do with light weight that didn’t put any strain on the tri? How many days a week did you do legs?
I’m going to drop certain AAS, but continue with my usual GH.
Just looking for thoughts/advice from some others that have had this same injury/surgery.
