survived Gustav

Well Guys I live here in south louisiana and I made it through the Katrina disaster 3 years ago and moved a little north to where Gustav hit the hardest. NO electricity all my food rotted and my gym where I trained my clients and myself is badly damaged so i'm basically jobless. I know i'll make it through somehow but it gets tough starting over again........and again. Made it to a friends home to stay in the meantime. If anyone else is from the area I wish you well. Its amazing what we take for granted until the shit hits the fan!!!! At least I can use my buds computer and visit my favorite board.

man I must be RIGHT in your backyard... I got friggin hammered too... tried to salvage some grub but lost a LOT of meat... I am in DS... where are you man? I sometimes dont get on for a day or so with work (and thank God I can go back before I starve) so if I dont reply right away I will ASAP... I am about to head back to the gym for the first time in over a week...

hi.

i'm in south la. also. i was out of town and couldn't get home. lots of branches, trees down, had to throw everything out in freezer/fridge. but no major damage to home/vehicle. very fortunate.

i wish devastation on no one. however, i'm am grateful to live here and to have grown up in a place that keeps me mindful that i have a lot to be thankful for... i consider electricity and indoor plumbing luxuries as a result of it. it's easy to forget how good most of us have it here.

hello neighbors

hello neighbors. I just returned home yeterday from Tennessee. Thats where we camp out during the storm. My power and everything is on, but I have this damn live oak tree in my back yard and the branches and leaves I have to pick up today sucked. The whole time I am cleaning my yard I was thinking about Ike blowing all of it back in my yard.

I been following not a strict but clean offseason diet and Gustav messed that up this week cause hotel food is not always bodybuilding food.

I've been living mainly on canned tuna, oats, protein powder, nuts, water...Stock up - you're good to go. keep an eye on Ike.

Tha is bad my friend, i wish you the best, we had to evacuate to Dallas and now Ike is coming, i laready made reservations in Dallas again, hope it doesnt come, i just move here and i am trying to stablish myself so another week is another miss.

Got power now but no job which is the most difficult, having to apply for aid for the first time in my life. Nature takes everything away but the bills just pile up. Apparently I don't qualify for any FEMA aid. If any knows of a Fema or other program, grant,loan to apply for let me know for now I've applied for unemployment compensation. Trust me it's not enough to live on!!!

your absolutley right of course, going to put up some fencing in the meantime with a friend who has a fencing company but most people are waiting for insurance checks, so still waiting to start jobs, should be plenty of work once the ball starts rolling.
