He was pretty intense on stage. He was always in great shape too. I still remember he was more excited than Jay when he beat Ronnie...almost hugged Jay to death. LOL.

These threads general get into the "how did he die" / "did bodybuilding do it" type of conversation. I've changed my mind pretty significantly from the thought we shouldn't do that to "why would we not"?. Heck, when my dad died a significant amount of time was spent on the "why" an "how" while we still mourned and were respectful. It is a part of death and the human mind to discuss, wonder, and ponder about it. Maybe it shouldn't be done in the RIP threads...or maybe it's the perfect place for it.

Anyway...lot of places reporting stroke, not sure if that is official.

One of my rental properties was next to his home in Vegas years ago, got to know him pretty well. Saddened to hear of this R.I.P my brother we had some EPIC workouts

He was one of the guys I was seeing a lot in the magazines when I first started going to the gym along with Ronnie, Jay, etc. I almost completely forgot about him since he has stayed away from the spotlight after his retirement. RIP

So sad to hear. He was one of the guys that was in the magazines that motivated me as I was coming up. He played the size game in 2005 working with Milos to beat Ronnie in the challenge round. Had hoped he’d win that year.

Every sport has risk. Rumors of a stroke and a recent kidney transplant are going around, but at the end of the day all athletes know the risk. NFL guys are dropping like flies in their 30’s after retirement. Even those outside of being elite athletes aren’t immune.

Life gets us all- I think that should be the only lesson situations like this teach us.
