any experiance with Gel's? Im on HRT and My job just switched Ins and my Injections not covered.. WTF? I will still get the Cypo but will have to pay retail for it.. Dr is suggesting Gel's

I would pay the extra and stick with the inject.
The gels will work somewhat ok for the HRT purpose,,,but will have little effect on 'bodybuilding' goals.

Tks Bro.. I will def keep the Cypo. just didn't know if you can add the gel's to program too.. wasn't sure of their benefits..

There's problems with good absorption from compounding pharmacies, but brand name testosterone gels like Androgel seem to work well for many. However, if you're on a budget and no insurance, it's legal for your doc to write a script for Andromen cream form Australia. You fax them the script and they mail it with the cream and customs won't touch it, as our FDA is honoring Australia's FDA approved meds. This cream raises testosterone much higher than the gels and at a fraction of the cost. It also has the reputation of enhancing libido far more than the gels, probably due to the fact it's applied to the scrotum, and so there's a sky high testosterone concentration in that area, and also because it raises blood levels higher. Following the directions on the box, most men get a testosterone level of 750ng/dl at a cost of $30-$40 per month. The only drawback to this stuff is the scrotum converts testosterone to DHT at a very high rate. Many older men have gotten enlarged prostates after only being on it for a few months. Yet the same men had no trouble when using the gels for years. So a good standardized Saw Palmetto extract is in order.

Thanks for the awesome info.. I will still get the cypo but My job changed INS and new INS Will not cover the injections.. I will continue to get but will have to pay retail.. Just curious if i could use both...

My old rejuvenation clinic would precribe both gels and injectables, but they were unusually cool about things. And they're bought out now, so that's no more.

I haven't talked to Dr Yet.. spoke with her nurse... Dr has been pretty cool.. I get the vials and do injections myself.. Maybe go for the HGH!

i get both the androgel @ 7.5 /day and cyp 100/week,from my endo doc.i love the gel,it keeps your t levels even...go for the gel from insurance and cyp out of pocket...best of both worlds!

Thanks for the answers to questions... thats my plan is go with Cypo outta pocket and the gel from Dr.. Hope dr is cool with that... She's seem to be .. Allows me to pick up the vials at store and girl-friend/nurse does the injections..

Just try the gel for a few months and see what happens with your test levels. If they drop substantially, you will have to go back to injectables. If they stay the same, you're fine on the gel.

My urologist has me on Androgel. At 5 grams of gel a day, my levels stay in the 500 range. Certainly good enough to feel normal, but not really high enough for big bodybuilding purposes. I think its ironic your insurance will cover gel but not injects. The Androgel is much more expensive @ about $275 for a months supply before insurance. I used to use a compounding pharmacy and paid $75 a month, but my insurance stopped paying since they were not in the "network"
