they told me "can't do b-fat test" b/c of stomach distention

i went to my gym where they do b.f. testing using calipers...they tested me at 9% which is very similiar to other tests w/i last 5 months-lastb 1 was 9.9%and 1st 1 was 10.4%...she told me that since my stomach is distended, it prevents her from grabbing enough skin, therefor the test will come out wrong....does this make any sense at all?
 
Yes, but I think this mostly pertains to people with, "beer guts." Yes, some bodybuilders have stomach distention from organ enlargement, excessive food intake, and doing their ab exercises with their stomachs poked out (yes this one is true). But it doesn't effect it to a large extent in most of the cases I've seen. Use this for an example; take a piece of cloth and loosely wrap it around an un-inflated balloon. Now inflate the balloon and keep the cloth wrapped around it. You'll notice that the empty space between the cloth lessens and balloon make grasping the cloth surrounding the balloon more difficult. This is is just a loose example, and I hope you maybe understand.
 
thanx i like that analogy..it pissed me off that she tried to discredit my reading...all 3 were very close (10.4, 9.9, 9) which leads me to believe it was an accurate reading...i know i had gotten slightly leaner than the last 1 according to the mirror...
 
huh? thats weird never heard of them saying that one..oh well get a more accurate test bro like hydrostatic one..sounds like ur real lowin bf and doing well btw..keep up the good work :)
 
if you use a 7 pt jackson pollock or 9 parillo point test, any one measurement is not going to completely throw off the readings. i just don't think the 3 pt has enough sites to be accurate and consistent.

it is a 3 point test..it would have to be a very odd coincidence that all 4x i've had it done at this gym, the numbers were so damn close!
 
this may sound really odd but i eat wings, pizza, cheese steaks, and anything else i want to eat and i'm still pretty lean (except my stomach distends) i train 5x a week for only 15-20 minutes a day and i don't do cardio
