This forum is starting to pic up a little bit finally! there still arent a lot of posts, but know every time i come check it out there are a couple people browsing it. At the time i started this there were 14 which i think is the most i have seen. All u guys lurking around if u have any questions or anything post it up.

Yes , things are starting to pick up again. I'm guilty of neglecting this forum but that will change. Currently I'm working on a bench press training artcle for the bench specialist. This will be based on the training done by my partner and I.

i need to write an article on something... hmmm.... maybe my latest rant on a buddy of mine why he doesnt get any stronger on westside. He want to do everything BUT the lifts! there is just no substitute for some hardcore squating and pulling!

anybody else who drops in regularly to check out whats goin on, say something here so i can get an idea of who all is visiting.

Bench Shirts?

Well in my day there was Ted Arcidi who was the king of the bench...he didn't wear the bench shirts like they have today.....Ted's helped me and a friend of mine back in the 80's...I think benching is a genetic thing...My best was 480 in the 242's with an inzer....My partner did 625 which back in those days 6's was pretty strong...

My arms are to long and my chest isn't thick enough...It's these 198 er's that have a true advantage these days...Short,thick and compact....every movement is half of what I had to do....

I picked up a Uspf mag and the weights are incredible these days....1005 bench...most say it was all shirt....I say where can i find that shirt then...

I'm a squater...so benching is something that i was never good at...I'd only use the shirt for the last 3 weeks od training....I notice there's some guys in the gym always wearing there bench shirts...I think it's ridiculous ...

Hello, thanks for the welcome! the pics above were from a local meet my husband and I hosted. That one was in July '04 and we had one Dec 05, but I dont have those pics uploaded yet. That one was inside, so not as many events, and not as much fun. lol. I am about the only strongwoman competitor in my immediate area, I think there are a few girls up north a few hours away. A training partner would be great, but none of the girls I know want to lift big weights. Although my training partner (competes in figure) does give it her best shot. A partner for strongwoman would be great. I am focusing more on bb right now, I am a fair-weather strongwoman lol---I only like to train outdoors and right now it is wwwaaaayyyy tooo cold lol

lol, lol, LMAO!!!!! i'll tell him, but he doesn't get on the computer much, I am sure he will just "post thru me" lol--he hates computers, totally old school lol..that was a nice invite though, thank you, I'll be sure to tell him. He actually won some powerlifting back in 1999 the uspf nationals, and senior nationals sub master 220lb at york barbell, he won an ipa world title as well

he hasn't been competing too much the last few years though.
