Is lifting weights bad for kidney disease?

I was wondering if you could help me out with a question I have. Recently, I've been diagnosed with kidney disease, and I've always enjoyed lifting weights as part of my fitness routine. However, I'm a bit concerned if it's safe for me to continue weightlifting with this condition. I've heard mixed opinions on this topic, so I thought it would be wise to consult with a urologist. Do you think lifting weights could potentially worsen my kidney disease, or is it generally safe to continue as long as I take certain precautions? I'm really eager to hear your insights or any advice you may have. Thanks in advance!

You should ask your kidney specialist, but something to think about, heavy lifting produces some metabolites that might stress the kidneys, but lifting will also increase protein metabolism which may help your situation,. The other benefit of lifting is the improvements in sugar metabolism, which could also be of benefit, best wishes and hope you figure it out

You mean nephrologist? Are you sure it’s not a false reading? The only reason I ask is you either made a typo or haven’t looked into the subject at all. I don’t know much but egfr alone isn’t accurate. Also your liver and kidney tests can be affected by the tissue you damaged floating around and register as protein or as raised liver values i think. Just letting you know Incase you have been misread by a doctor
