I'm finally getting some growth in my calves. I dont know how much I've gained in the last three months but I've really been hitting them hard and just think they look pretty good now. I was one of those guys that always had shitty calves. I even tryed "posing oil" in the summer and only ended up with a half inch! I now know that its better to just get them on your own. GO HEAVY! GO LIGHT! Hit them from every angle! I've gone as high as 820lb on donkey calve raises to just doing one leg at a time with zero weight. It's finally all coming together.

so if you went from shitty calves to awesome calves, lets see them!

how big are the calves man? mine, personally, are WAY behind my arms. my arms are 20, calves are like 17 :(
i need to fix it! tried DC's calf routine for quite a while, as well as hernons. now im doing a mix of both :D
what did your calf routine look like? how often? how many sets? how many exercises? let me know :)
 
Okay, here are mine.

Mine are 19.5 today. I just took this picture 3.29.09 at 9:59 pm.

Nothing great and they look pretty soft compared to Alfresco's and Brads. :eek:

Holy shit you guys have some big calves... 19.5?!?! thats nuts!

steele- you have the only set of high insertion point calves that I've ever seen that still look great! most people would give up with those "no calf" genetics.

Natabolic- good to see you posting again. I train calves every other day alternating between donkeys,seated, and standing one legged standing on 3 45's with no weight. As far as rep ranges I'm ALL over the place. I go as low as six reps and as high as hundreds of reps. Lately I've been doing quadruple drop sets and that really kills! My form is very strict all the time. I go very slow squeezing at the top for 2 sec of every rep. The only time I bounce is sometimes at the very end of a set when I cant get full ROM reps.
 
DAMN GUYS WOW WHAT THE HELL!??? you guys got some big jacked ass calves...id give anything for mine to look like that!!!!

Somebody send me some damn tips or a PM or something...i am looking for big ass calves by any means necessary but shit nothing seems to work for my terrible calve genetics! :mad:

I'm really trying to bring up my calves this year, they are responding a little bit better, but are still tiny.

I have high insertions and small bones, Let me see, My ankles are.....7 3/4"! My calves are about 15 1/2" - 16" at their biggest. My knees are 13", so I really don't see them growing much, but I've never really trained them hard.

This year I'm following Phil's training routine, so hopefully they will come up a bit and I will be worthy of posting my pics on here.

Talk about huge! lol :D Now if I only had arms that matched.

For a while I had everything pretty close, neck, arm, and calf measured all a little over 19 inches. My arms suck sheeit though. :D

Its good to be back man. Thanks for going into detail about your training. Might give it a try sometime. :)
