USA platinum card?

i keep getting a call from usa platinum catalog card company and they say to pay 149.95 for a catalog card with a 5.000 dollar limit to buy from there catalog . i am wondering if anyone heard if they are a scammer or how this card works and is it real?

It's legit, but you will pay the $150 fee right off the bat, then when you purchase anything you will pay 15-20% more than the retail price, then on top of that, you will be charged around 29% interest for your finance charges.
Plenty of better ways to get credit if needed.

I find it funny how easy US banks throw 'platinum' cards around.
They destroyed the prestige of having a real one.

Here in Aust, just like in the rest of the world, you can get a Gold card if you earn over $50k/year and the credit limit is minimum $10k to $25k.
Once you are a good customer for many years, the bank will give you a platinum card by INVITATION only and that card will have minimum credit limit of $100k to unlimited.

I just find it funny when US guys boast about having "Platinum" cards with $5k limits or even less.

Platinum cards are a dime a dozen here in the USA. The only card that truly shows your "financial status" in the USA, is an American Express "Black" card.

Its sales straight up... there just looking to get a few more customers calling it platinum... Oh and if your credit sucks try this card Myimaginecard.com they will rape you but it will establish your credit...
