What is your preferred method for "drying out" for a show

I've been following several people the last few weeks competing up through Jr USA and Now Master National and a couple of them completely tanked their carb load and drying out.
I've seen the prep range from starting to cut water and Sodium 3 days out (tapering) then trying to "shit load" the night before , two have used diuretics and went totally flat and couldn't catch up till the night show and then they didn't look nearly as lean or crisp as the days before.
One had been on zero carbs for weeks then got 600g on Friday before a Saturday show while reducing water and she ended up smooth with a bloated gut.
It's seems that people try some off the wall tricks to try to get "dry" when the real issue is they just are not lean enough. I personally don't think that a diuretic is needed , the only ones I've seen people use them and not be flat was when the just took a half a diazide AFTER pre judging when they ate a burger and fries with 10oz water.

Has anyone used any of the more "agressive" loading or drying out plans that they were able to actually peak exactly when they wanted and could do it repeatedly.??
 
Personally i make sure i m shreded , and i cruise into the show

When ever i was really shredded i never got problems with water

Everytime i tried to do some “ protocol “ for loading i ended up looking worse

p.s. - if your still flat in the morning after breakfast then you simply add a small amount of water and 💥 boom ..your good.
 
I've never competed but the idea of doing extreme things during the final week has always seemed foolish to me. Especially the guys who stuff their faces with huge amounts of food and massive amounts of carbs. I will guarantee that many of the worst guts we have seen on stage have been in part due to full stomachs. Now, even though I have never competed, I do on occasion want to look good for an event... say I'm going to see my girl for the first time in a while... or something like that... What I'll do is take a small dose of lasix, every 7-8 hours, starting about 48 hours before I'm going to see her... And I won't eat much volume for the ~12 hours before I see her... This works great for me... I don't look flat at all... But I look much leaner

Because your not shredded, do this ^^ when shredded and you will be soft and flat.
