I heard about this the other day.
They have had a list like that for junk mail for some time.

Wish you could get those creditors (my wife pays her bills late each month) to stop calling - sometimes up to 10 times a day same bill!
Thank god I handle the money for family bills!

I got a question though. I know for a fact that collection agaencies that send yu those letters in the mail that state if you don't pay a balance to a bill you owe by this date they are going to take action, etc, etc, etc. Well i know for a fact if you write or call them, you can tell them to stop calling you and sending you mail otherwise you are going to sue them for harrasment.

My question is can you do the same thing with telemarketers. It really doesn't bother me when they call during the day becuase usually i am not home and my voice mail picks it up, but sometimes these jackasses call at 10pm or even as late as midnight. That is when it pisses me off. Can you getthem for harassment?

If Im not mistaken, telemarketers cannot call (or are not supposed to) after 9 PM your time, regardless of where they are calling from. I believe in doing so, they are in violation of some rules/laws set forth and handled by the FCC.

From Subpart L - Restrictions on Telephone Solicitation

No person or entity shall initiate any telephone solicitation to a residential telephone subscriber

before the hour of 8 A.M. or after 9 P.M. (local time at the called party's location), and
unless such person or entity has instituted procedures for maintaining a list of persons who do not wish to receive telephone solicitations made by or on behalf of that person or entity.
