This is hands-down my all-time favorite breakfast! I have been eating this for years! :headbang:
ToDouble, do you cook your own black beans? I always cook a large pot and freeze 1/2 for the week. Super easy to do and once you taste these, you will NEVER eat beans out of a can again! Give it a try.
1 lb black beans soaked in cold water over-night
Drain and rinse and in a large pot…
Add 6 cups water
1 bay leaf
1 cube chicken bullion cube (I use the Korrs "caldo de pollo" from the Mexican section of the grocery at my wife's recommendation, 1 tablespoon, its in a little green jar)
Bring to a boil, and then simmer covered @ 2 hours (I like my beans soft)
Done! Tasty and soft! And you have enough for a week at the cost of $1.50!
