My favorite oatmeal recipe

Since I've become more cautious about my blood pressure I've stopped consuming caffeine, other than green tea and have looked at healthier options which brought me to cocoa.

Since implementing cocoa my diet I've discovered that mixing it into oatmeal is delicious, tastes like dessert. It's rich in antioxidants and acts like a mild slow acting Caffeine.

The recipe
one and a half cups of oatmeal (you can use less oatmeal)
Mixed in
one tablespoon of cocoa, this is to get a good dose of theobromine (the stimulant in cocao)
and 2 stevia packets

I use 2% fat milk

I do oatmeal +cocoa+scoop choc isolate+tbsp pb + banana

Other one i love is oatmeal+honey+cinamon+vanilla isolate + blueberies
 
1/2 cup of oats + big bowl for extra voluume
Cook until thick
Add stevia and water enhancer , or whey
 
I use non alkalized cocoa as it is healthier then the alkalized type.
 
Does it taste different though? Like less chocolate like?
It wont have the same flavor. It is more a real chocolate flavor since it is less processed. Probably more of a dark chocolate flavor as it hasn't been alkalized.

ok thanks. i prefer dark chocolate anyway so I am going to give that a try.
 
I mixed a scoop of chocolate muscle milk into my oatmeal this morning...I thought I was gonna vomit!...never again!...

Wow that sounds great. I eat oatmeal every day and usually I just put blueberries and raisins and a little bit of honey. But cocoa powder sounds like a winner to me. Thank you I’ll be trying that for sure.💪
 
Much of a preference on the actual oatmeal? I’ve done the quick oats, steel cut from I want to say red mill? Costco usually has coaches oats which are pretty solid but damn you need a big bowl or it overflows. Little bit of honey or the honey roasted peanut butter from Frazier farms…….legit!!

eating now:

1-cup oats, 1-scoop vanilla iso-whey, i banana chopped.

good stuff...
