Can you play pro sports that tests for roids when on TRT treatment?

If you are getting TRT treatment, can you still participate in pro sports that tests for performance enhancing drugs? Or will you automatically fail because of the testosterone you're taking with TRT? If you show that you're on TRT from a doctor would that matter and you would still be allowed to participate?

I am just making an educated guess, but it shouldnt affect you if youre on TRT. If youre on true TRT from a doc your total test should be within normal parameters and so then wont raise any red flags. Test I belive cant tell the difference from normal endogenous test and exogenous.

not to hijack the thread, but a related topic....what about diabetics on insulin? i don't know anything about how insulin is used, but i wondered if diabetics could take advantage of what they have

They would then have to test your blood levels instead of looking for the metabolites in your urine so I think it would be tricky because a person could always lower dosage a few weeks before the test and appear "normal."

I'm sure they could but your insulin goes up and down throughout the day depending on what you eat, I don't think they test for insulin usage.

Interesting question. I'd assume Lance Armstrong was taking steroids as a replacement for testcancer. So don't know? It will become an issue when golf starts testing, as there are a lot of older golfers playing that could likely get HRT.

You CAN test the difference between most injected test and natural. It involves the type of carbon used in injected vs man made. I believe they do it at the olympics. No doubt some high tech labs are making it with the different carbon to beat the test.

My guess is every competitive athlete is using slin. It would be very difficult do test for, I would think. There are minor changes in injectable kinds, to increase the active time. So it might be possible to test for them. But the 1/2 life is so short, don't know if it's practical.

Jay Cutler (Denver Broncos QB..not the bber) is a diabetic and is on insulin....I doubt he is using it to give himself an advtange though
