how much sleep is really needed for growth

are my gains really going to be affected that if let's say I get 5-6-7 hours of sleep vs the 8 that I always read about? considering my diet and training is actually on point. I can list macros and training but I'm currently in a cut @ 212 and my coach is dieting me down to 185.
