20% Testosterone Propionate Cream vs Testim

Hey All,

A friend of mine uses 20% test prop cream which he gets from a compounding pharmacy. My doc has offered to put me on Testim or Androgel. Would the 20% test propionate cream be stronger?

Any advice?

I believe the Androgel is less test % than your friends compound pharmacy gel. I believe your MUCH better off with Test E injections.

My doc has me on the test gel. I love it. Keeps my test levels in the normal range no problem. I also buy mine from a compounding pharmacy. The price is cheaper than the Androgel from a pharmacy which I am sure my insurance appreciates. That's right, my insurance is buying me the juice!!!!!

The doc just gave me a prescription for testim. I'm only 27 yrs old and my testosterone levels were 190. That was a complete shock to me since Ive never taken steriods and I can certainly hold my own in the gym. Will this stuff cut off the test my body is already making or will it just add to my 190.

I would think it would just add to it since its low already. The problem I had with the name brand testim gel was the price, $240.00 for ONE months supply!!! My insurance was not going to pay for most of that. So I go to a compounding pharmacy and its $75.00 per month, insurance picking up most of the cost

I'm a bit surprised on the cream that is works. I never used , but I allways get from people negative feed back. Did you guys are 1oo% that the cream is working for sure?

My blood test readings went from 140 before using the gel to about 900 now

A good friend of mine uses it, doctor provided him this and some HCG, its 10mg a day he rubs on his quad.

I was prescribed "testim 1" 50mgs daily. Did some research 1 -2 % actuly makes it into the body, I did it for two months, its sticky and smells strong of alchol, more of a pain in the ass then anything (for me), went back to the doctor and he would prescribe me inj. so at $250 a month I said thanks but no thanks.
Just my personal experience with it.
The catch is the first month they give it to you for 25 bucks, and yeah it works in the sexdrive area very quickly actualy, but then next moi=nth they bang you for 250.

How would he know that without a blood test? Since he would know that if a test was run, I'd be very suprised if you weren't informed of the results.

Thanks for the info. I'm waiting to see if my insurance will cover this. It should since my symptoms were of tiredness and fatigue and not erectile dysfunction. Also how can I find a compounding pharmacy? Will I need a new prescription from the doc for that?

My doc referred me to the compounding pharmacy when I asked. I don't think there is a generic Testim gel made. As far as the alcohol smell that is gone in a minute or two, then I can't tell I have it on at all. The script can be transferred to any pharmacy you want to use. Mine has to be renewed every 6 months by law. Because you know what a dangerous substance testosterone is!

You have to ask the doctor to test your testosterone levels first. He will probably ask why, or what symptoms you have that might want you to do this. For me, I was just tired all the time.

That was using the compounded gel only. Mine comes 2cc's of gel with 5% test applied daily. I always make sure I am clean from any "supplements" at least 1 – 1 1/2 months before I go in for my bloodwork which happens every 6 months.

you sure this compounded cream has test prop? Sure it doesn't have test no ester. All the studies I have seen indicate that the ester won't make it through the skin and you end up with test no ester in your blood stream anyway.

The gel is designed to mimic your own body's testosterone production so they use prop, not esters. You apply everyday and a small amount is absorbed dailey just as your own body would do. Your test levels stay normal and even. I am not advocating the gel or cream as a bodybuilding supplement because it will not provide the gains like larger amounts of juice will do. But when off, it will keep your test readings in the normal range so you feel normal. It definitley worked for me.

Once again thanks for the great info. I believe the testim he prescribed me is only 1%. And they are only 50mg tubes. I don't know if that is more or less than 2cc's. Maybe this is just my starting dose.
