I'm currently with a very large Fortune 500 company and have developed a pretty good 401k account.
I've been with this company for four years but looking to move on as I'm interested in obtaining a management position.
When selecting another company, should I include my current 401k as compensation? In other words, should I include that into my expected salary?
Also, should I confirm that the company i'm joining has equal 401k value as the Fortune 500 company I'm with?
In other words, I have a good 401k with this Fortune 500 company and if i leave to work for a less valued company could I lose on my 401k investment when rolling it over?
If so, should I ask for more compensation ( salary) to make up for the lost?
thanks guys.
