501.5 lb deadlift at 148 WTCLS by a chick with scoliosis

Hey guys! I recently had the pleasure of interviewing a local female powerlifter that pulled 501.5 lbs at a BW of 146 lbs. Her name is Linda Okoro and she was diagnosed with scoliosis in middle school and finally got corrective surgery for it a few years ago. She's an up and coming powerlifter that just got invited to lift at the Arnold Sports Festival in March! Check it out!

Amazing that she would even be able to deadlift that much especially after having back surgery. I screwed up the space between my L4-L5 squating....no way Id even try to deadlift 500lbs anymore. She is one tough lady!

That's not only impressive, but she's a good looking girl, and seems to have a great attitude. Good for her!

I had a similar operation in 2002 and had 16 disks removed and 18 vertebrae fused. Takes a lot to recover from something like that.

It doesn't affect walking or any kind of activity really. The majority of the fusions are in the thoracic region so the amount of movement is minimal anyway because of the rib cage.

The craziest part is that they took 4" out of my back in the process and I'm still 6'8". I can do without the other inches, its hard enough to find clothes or cars big enough.

Her best pull at this meet was 451 lbs at 147.4 lbs. She did not make her attempt of 510.4 lbs.
