Check this out first. It's much more versatile, plates come out for easy cleaning, and has a surface that's much larger than GF (standard/small one). **broken link removed**
Cool idea Xcel-thats the one thing I DONT like about the GF grill is that you have to manipulate the entire grill at the sink when cleaning. We have a big one with a stand and a little one too!
i have a black and decker i got from walmart on sale for $30... it's a lil bigger than that but has a timer and detachable surfaces for dishwasher safe cleaning... makes it a lot better.
Mike - If you put some wet paper towels in it while its still hot - then close it, you can just toss the towels, wipe it a time or two and its in good shape. Mine never gets close to the sink - CH
Another solution for GF grill cleaning is... use foil...place the foil on the grill and then on the top of the food...when you're done...toss the foil and the drip fat is the only cleaning needed.
a buddy of mine always puts salt on his, something about it and the grease. Not sure why but his is always clean. I just unplug mine and wipe out with a paper towel and call it good. Catch while it's hot and all is good. That's the easiest way I found.
