ALPHA LIPOIC ACID AND MILK THISTLE FOR LIVER PROBLEMS

Anyone use these for high liver count and find that they work ? My doctor that I go to for 11 years now at a VA clinic feels that homeopathic supplements have not been proven to do nothing and they can make things worse ... its been my experience most medical doctors doubt supplements because I'm told they go to school mostly to learn about medicine and work with pharmaceutical companies to make money writing a script that can kill your liver as well as the gear people including myself use periodically ... I have found studies from medical experts on the web with references that should prove ALA and milk thistle work , but the doctor I see now , and family doctor I went to way back some 20 years would tell its all garbage and I didn't even need a multi- vitamin even though my diet was crap ... does this sound like general thinking from a doctors standpoint ?

In my experience, yes! I had moderately high liver enzymes a year ago and took milk thistle for roughly 3 weeks, at which time I was re-tested and was within normal range.
