Anyone ever do this exercise?

I think thats basically a dumbell variation of an upright row, so would hit the same muscles, mostly delts I think.

It maybe a more injury friendly way of doing the exercise as i think upright rows have somewhat of a bad rep for causing / aggravating sholder injuries, mostly due to the narrow grip alot of people do them with though I believe, so doing them with dumbells like that avoids that issue

I prefer upright barbell rows. that one looks like it would make my shoulders pop like crazy.

upright rows with DB

This is a great exercise to change things up, I like them, alot of people may not.

Looks like your hitting the medial deltoid first, about 70% and then some traps and posterior delts second. It's not a bad way to change things up come shoulder days!

Just thrown these into a shoulder workout, can definatly feel them across my lateral delt and traps.

As Dangkolo said they're a great way to change things up, at least for myself.

Don't forget the Biceps Brachii and traps. This seems to me to be a Physical Therapy type exercise and may be used to fine tune the body when sculpting. Me personally, stick with basic olympic movements when mass building and throw all that other stuff away that takes away energy from primary workouts. The people I see in the gym that never change are the ones doing all these freaky movements added to their program. Myself, when I'm done with bench in the morn and incline dumbells at night, OMG, I just don't have anything left in me to play around with such stuff. KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. If one has enough fight in themself after one's primary to do special movements, one did not work hard enough on the primary.

THE STORM

boyer coe performed them quite frequently.. ;)
