that's now living in the orient (korea, phill. Thai. etc.) just wondering how it is. Wife is Korean and is really wanting to move back.says alot of money can be made . Any kind of info. yuo can think of

Hey Bro. In the same boat actually. My fiance is Korean and we are moving there very soon. I am not working, I retired in Feb 07 but she will be pursuing her dream career. She is not a US citizen so it won't be difficult for her to transition back but my Korean is just beginner's level and I am just hoping I can find a decent gym!!!!!!!!!

Try the deep fried cat, it's delicious, tastes like the Colonol's Popcorn Chicken.

My wife was over there for a year, and I visited for a month (Shes in the USAF). I personally wouldnt want to move there, nor my wife.

It really depends on where you live.

Pot, what base was your wife on.... Osan, Kunsan? Osan is only 45 miles north of Seoul. If you were married at the time, I am assuming it was Kunsan as that is an unaccompanied remote tour for AF peeps. Kunsan is about 150 miles southwest of Seoul. Can you elaborate on why you didn't like it? How long did you visit?

Korea is an amazing country. However, if you have no affinity for Asian history, Asian women or Asian culture, I doubt you would like most parts of Asia.

She was station in Kunsan. We traveled to both Osan and Seoul, which were a lot nicer then Kunsan. I guess it was just to dirty and gloomy when I went. Which was in December of 2006, I stayed for a month. Plus I had to stay in a rack with my soon to be wife and her roomate. I was sharing 1 bathroom with 4 chicks, cooking on a forman grill everyday, so I guess it wasnt the best atmosphere to be visiting a new country. The food was great. I love that chicken bulgogi and kimchi is the bomb!

Hahaha... oh yeah... good food you mentioned there. I probably eat more Korean food than most koreans. LOL

You definitely didn't have a good 'experience' from what you said. Plus, the winters can be as gloomy and cold as the NE here in the states. Seoul is def a different animal than Kunsan and Osan. Although, if you can make a half assed attempt to communicate with them in Korean, they seem to appreciate your presence a lot more. hahaha
