Anyone suggest any (moderate priced) Vacation spots???

Looking for some suggestions on summer vacations spots... I want to suprise my gf with a nice getaway, she's been really stressed at work these past cpl months and I really want to surpise her. With the economy the way it is rt now, my biz has taken somewhat of a hit. I'm looking to spend roughly 1500-2grand total. I know kind of meager but also shoping for the ring at this time... Looking to stay within the united states as well. She is down for anything, very easy-going so I am open for all suggestions... Thanks in advance

I'm not sure where you live and I know you want to stay within the US, but Mexico is pretty inexpensive in some places....or maybe you can go to Disney World...do the rides and clubs at night in City Walk (now I'm not an amusement park type of guy but I'm just throwing it out there)

Just got back from Mexico last week and it was the best I could ever imagine. All inclusive at a 5 star resort with great food, great staff, great beach, great weather, and a great price. We spent 8 days there for 1300 each including air fare and then spent a couple hundred more for SCUBA trips while there. The place we stayed was a little south of Playa Del Carmen, which is about 40 miles south of Cancun. It was so stress free not having to leave the resort because everything is there and the only thing that you even have to carry money for are SCUBA trips or Wave Runners, everything else is included so you don't even have to carry cash with you. I have never gone before so of course I took about $800 cash with me and came back with $600 cash after eight days. Nice huh. I highly reommend booking through a vaction company like Apple Vacations. You can put it all together yourself and spend hours finding flights and stuff like we did at first. Then we calld our travel agent, who books through Apple and she put it all together for us and it cost an extra $20 each so save yourself the time and check the prices on Apples web site and book it there or go through an agent. Have a great time man and if you go where I did try not to spend all your time staring at the breath taking Italian women on the beach!

dominican republic, puerto rico is nicer but quite a bit more expensive. i really enjoy cruise liner packages, check them out, take into consideration that you have a lot of entertainment and meals provided and the booze isn't over priced but will come out of pocket.. We do the 3days all the time just to disconnect, take off Sat morn, return Mon morn.usually runs me 500 for me and the misses..that may be an extra discounted price through my moms travel agent doubt its much more though..

thanks frank, was maybe considerind a cruise. I will look into it. Also, this is probably a dumb question, but I ve never been out of the country. How hard is it to obtain a passport. I know you need your birth certificate but i was reading on the site you need other forms of id? I have had friends tell me it's a pain in the ass

Getting a passport is actually not too hard. When I got mine all i needed was driver's license, and birth certificate. I always get sick on cruises haha. I prefer being on the beach, free food, free alcohol, etc

Placencia, Belize.. Took the GF there.. Tropical, secluded and cheap.. Had a hotel right on the beach and had the GF on it too.. No lie.. 15 ft from the my room to the water.. Don't go past July.. Rainy season there after then..

Id love to visit all these places, but i have this fear that im going to be "The Guy" that for some reason is picked up by the police and stuck in jail forever....lol. Sad, but true.
