Anyone wear dentures?

This is something Ive been seriously concidering lately. I have genetically bad teeth, combined with various issues over the years including drug abuse, lack of care, several knocked out, etc. I've lived a hard life and have paid the price. I'm a matured person with all that behind me now and am very self concious about my smile. I work so hard for the body I have, yet my teeth are terrible and I'm ready to change that. I remember a post some time back about steriod use and dental health, but can't recall any specifics.
Have any of you gotten dentures, and if so what are your thoughts? I looked into implants and the whole nine but that route is far above my budget, one dentist in Vegas quoted me $38,000 for everything!!!! I do have dental insurance now, and from my basic research looks like I can afford the highest end denture from a reputable establishment. Just trying to get some first hand feed back. I am only 28 and know for a fact I will need dentures in the future. My teeth grind down and chip SO easily and are already small to begin with.

i dont have dentures myself but two of my friends do and my father, they are totally fine! they only look bad when u take them off at night... u know that.. but other than that, u will have that hollywood smile for sure. and i would take dentures over implants.. those are expensive, after about a year they turn grey, with black lines underneath gumlines, super painful..

I'm 39 and got braces around 8 months ago, will have them for another year or so. I found myself getting more concerned about my appearance as my career moved forward, very happy with the progress, little pain after getting them tighted, but no biggy.

Bad teeth are in the family, I had wanted to get them fixed in my 20s, but with combat sports an bouncing figured it not a good idea.

Braces are best way to go IMO, I almost went with crowns...until my wife found out....smart girl.

I am 35y old and have top and bottom partial dentures with the full top . I lost 14 teeth 9y ago while fighting in japan. Well i didnt take care of my teeth after i lost them for a year and had huge problems with infections and cysts. Now i am wearing dentures for 8 years and feel like they are never there. I have no problem whatsoever.
I do regret not takig care of my broken teeth right away and getting implants instead of dentures.
I did notice one thing, i am on HGH for 10 months and i have noticed that my dentures are getting loose and not tight as they were before.

If you get dentures that fit properly, they are wonderful. If they don't, you will curse the day you were born (until you do get some that fit.) Research. Get feedback from people who have had teeth made by whatever dentist you are considering.

My jaw bone is infected and I'm getting teeth pulled left and right, is it true that your jaw bone shrinks with every tooth lost?
