What shorts/shoes/shirt do you wear? (summer/fall focused attire)

I love these quiksilver amphibian shorts. Super light and comfortable, can wear out with a tshirt during the day or with a polo to go out to dinner. I live in a hot climate so never wear long pants, these are my go to for going out, I have a bunch of pairs. They sit right above the knee will show a little quad if you got big legs

oh yeah!!! That's the type of thing I'm talking about there. You absolutely could go for a walk on the beach, hit the gym, or throw on a nice polo and go to dinner in that. Love it. THanks!

I am very blessed to be at a point where I rarely have to dress up for work anymore.

Daily wardrobe consists of:
New balance 5inch inseam
Vivo barefeet shoes or Altra Lone Peaks
Assortment of T-shirts from work

Same here. I work from home a few days and go in a few days but office attire is boots, jeans, and a company-branded t-shirt. So nice to not spend money on dress clothes and dry cleaning!

It's sincerely a blessing I never thought would matter. I remember being young and loving putting on my dress whites or a nice suit - I will literally avoid events now if I have to wear anything formal.

What are the "fashion rules" on short length. I thought 7 inch was the standard...I assume 5 are considered "gym shorts"? I read shorts should be about an inch above kneecap lol

I am sort of in a weird position because I work from home 75% of the time. The other 25% I usually wear a suit or more of a "business casual" (casual pants/button down/sports coat). The nice thing now is the days of ties are long over so it feels "easier" these days to be dressed up than it used to even 10-15 years ago

7" I think is the norm and looks good. 8-10" is too long for me. I like 5-6" because I have large legs and I'm only 5'8" so it doesn't look "oddly short". I'd probably opt for 7" if I was 5'10" or over.

Being an older guy I am stuck in the 80s grunge look for the gym. Sweat pants cut just over the knee and flannel lumberjack shirt with sleeves cut just above the elbow. Hot and humid summer months Neleus (Amazon) shorts and tank tops. As for shoes ..... I wear Oakley Tactical Boots nearly all the time.

They are flexible, light weight, versatile, breathe well, and are relatively nice looking. To me they are as comfortable as high end running shoes, offer the ankle support of high tops or regular combat boots.....yet they "match" whatever I am in, be it gym, casual, or work clothes. Functionally they are good for riding my motorcycle, riding the horses, or doing farm chores.

Nice to not have to go to work in dress shoes, to dinner in casual shoes, and then to the gym in athletic shoes (turning my car into a locker room).

The only exception is work days that I visit clients in a suit and wear Brogues from best muay thai gear. Otherwise my office is business casual and these look fine with slacks.View attachment 198706
Usually, I wear Adidas shoes and shorts. During practices, I can mix in a shirt from a different brand. During tournament matches, I like to have a "complete" outfit.

I honestly have no idea what brand any of my daily or workout cloths are , whatever is cheap at Academy or Dicks. Various t-shirts from local companies , chiropractor , gyms.
Couple pairs of Various tennis shoes. Nike Metcon 4 fit my feet great so i have several of those and Couple different flip flops.

Generic yback tanks from Amazon and some Nike slides. Form fitting above the knee shorts as well. All generic stuff really

Freefly lined shorts
Birdogs lined shorts

Best on the planet.

Just ordered some chubbies to try (all I have of theirs is swimwear).

Hello everyone. I like bullet points or I'll yammer on too long so here goes...

  • I'm trying to find a utility type of short that I could train in, wear casually, or even actually throw a polo on and it look decent. I've seen people mention these https://truewerk.com/products/mens-t1-werkshort. I do like a 5-6" inseam, yes that's pretty short. I've actually found a few pairs of performance pants I could wear to a meeting, dinner, or train in.
  • Shoes...I'd also like a pair of "do it all shoes". I just got a pair of whitin "casual barefoot shoes". I literally want a pair of shoes I can wear to a meeting OR to train in. I'll keep you all posted. Curious if any other recommendations.
  • Shirts: I stick with a tank under a performance type button down. I am curious what tanks you all prefer or even business casual button downs/polos you all prefer?

If it seems like I am trying to find outfits that do it all, you are right. For example monday I will have a cross country flight, go to a (business casual) meeting, a dinner, and will stop at a gym on the way to my hotel. I pack very light when I travel so the least clothing possible, the better.
For shorts / pants, check out prana. Very breathable and comfortable while also being durable enough to train in. I've literally trained in them a couple times when I managed to forget gym shorts and not realize it until I got the gym. Not the cheapest but I think definitely worth the tag.

For shirts, under armor tech / performance polos are very comfy, look decent enough, and don't break the bank. I've never had to train in them but I'm certain I wouldn't mind it.

For shoes, I'm always on the lookout for something that can suffice as dressy enough and still being quite comfortable. Lems make some very comfy dress shoes. I wouldnt necessarily choose to train in them but they're far and away the most comfortable dress show I've owned.

Been eyeing the vivo brand for a while, just never pulled the trigger. Hows the toe box? My feet are wide af

thanks

^^ Yup. Especially in Canuckistan best deal on shorts, tshirts etc. Really dont give a shit what I wear as long as it fits decent.

Shoes for me - https://www.newbalance.ca/en_ca/pd/...V3-40377_width=D&pid=ML574V3-40377&quantity=1

These shoes are good for gym/walking and work (business)....plus NB fit my wide feet nicely.
Love the 574, esp classics. Also the 2002r and any of the 990. Comfortable, in style and go with anything. Only NB I don't like is the 9060 ... look good but too bulky. 1906r IMO looks like a knock off asics.

Alta Lone Peaks (or derivation thereof) the win. Between my wife and we have owned well over two dozen pairs. She walked the PCT in multiple pairs. I like them because they are zero drop and a wide toe box (all models) for my deformed feet. The also make a version with an even wider toe box which I am looking at buying for our vacation. Hint . . . buy the previous years model, they will be less 💰 We never buy current and if you like them buy two pair because they are never the same, a pet peeve to me.

Here is our current supply. (No fetish remarks please 😉) And yes we hike a lot. She is in yet another pair right Noel on a hike.

For everyday life either converse or dr Martin's. Shirts are usually old bands or movies.
Shorts and pants are different brands that a fitted but stretchy.

For the gym I wear my old converse and shirts and buy whatever cheap gym shorts or sweat pants I find.
