What do you eat pre and post?

I have allergies to too much whey protein. I have tried every brand and type you can think of.

So I have to limit the amount.

The 2x vegan proteins that work with my stomach are below:

I agree about the intra workout nutrition though. A lot of the high level coaches are big on the intra workout drink concoctions, usually consisting of EAAs, creatine, glutamine, a carb source (usually dextrose), and maybe some salt or beta alanine and probably a few other ingredients im missing

Can't have egg white due to sulphur/gas.

I will switch out for SKYR/ISEY yoghurt.

50g carbs/sugars


60-90 minutes after training
75-100g lean meat protein
75-100g carb source
 
I’m surprised at the number of guys using whey pre and post. I might try pushing the pre back a little farther out and seeing if the Greek yogurt sits better. It’s weird sometimes fine. Sometimes I feel bloated. Same brand and all.

But @luki7788 makes a good point w intra and the heightened sympathetic state after. Maybe I’m better off coming home and showering and letting myself settle down first before eating like I have. My appetite isn’t great when pushing food so I was trying to not waste time.

A lot of guys eat farther out before training than I was expecting.

digestion takes time

even something with pure dextrose and EAA's.. put some food coloring in it.. drink it... wait 60 minutes, then force yourself to throw up.. you'll see it in your vomit

intra shakes are actually post shakes...

a big meal a couple hours before training functions as an intra shake

16oz protein shake, bit of creatine, 1 piece of toast with egg and tuna salad on top, 16oz green tea with a teaspoon on local raw honey.

Post workout (soon) is anyone’s guess, usually nothing until I get home around noon except 16oz of water.

I hit the gym early, cardio for an hour, train for an hour, train somebody for an hour, stretch for ~ 1 hour, walk up in a hilly park for an hour or two then home to eat. Long ass morning. Yes, sometimes I crash.

Do this three days a week.

Which sucks I know 🙁

Haha. Yea it’s a long ass morning. Has not always been like that, only since I started training somebody last year. I need to bring food with me . . . no shit!

Am self employed so I have zero excuses, it’s all on me, I promise to do better 😉

Before I ate like a weight training person. Big breakfast. Workout. Big lunch. Big dinner. Maybe a bit in between. Makes a HUGE difference. Da.
 
After work 96 lean gb + rice. 2 hour nap then sip eaa/demoday/honey/salt/creatine shake on way to gym. Come home shower then mix up some 96gb + potatoes covered in pasta sauce then off to bed. Recently added sauerkraut to both meals feels like it improves digestion.
 
Pretty much eat the same thing year round for my pre and post no matter the goals - I just adjust the macros.

Pre - protein pancakes made of whey iso, egg whites, eggs, bananas, cream of rice and oat flour.

Post shake - whey iso and carbs

Post meal - 30-60 after the shake. Slop with egg whites, Greek yogurt, cream of rice and oat flour.

Man I miss having the ability to Power Nap at will. Literally the best feeling
 
weekdays my pre is my third meal at 12pm- chicken, rice, evoo, veggies, fruit

Intra- EAA, creatine, taurine, karbolyn, pink salt
2:30pm I drink half on the way to the gym, and other half i sip while training

Post
60-90min after training
Chicken or sometimes whey, COR, banana, raisins or dates

Weekends my pre is my first meal and train about 2hrs after
Egg whites, whole egg, peppers, onions, oats and fruit

Intra and post stay the same
 
I still like the Viz diet

Pre - faye, COR, fruit
Post - whey isolate, honey nut cherrios.

My intra is careless right now
EAA, BCAA (flavoring), creatine, glutamine, beet root powder, electrolytes, taurine.

I work swing shift so when I'm on dayshift I train fasted at 4:00am so everything stays same except not pre workout meal of course.
Brad how you make rhe COR with the yogurt??
 
I like something some what of substance so 30min before I will have chicken 3oz and a couple scoops of rice

Post workout is a shake and banana then I will eat again in an hour or so

No I have yogurt with fruit in it (strawberries and blueberries) and the COR on the side.
