remove them from your startup menu

or right click on the icon at the bottom right and most progs have the option to NOT begin on startup

you have what I consider two quick fixes.. go to microsoft.com and download the free 90 day trial of "one care" that will fix it for a little while.. then it will give you time to download a free firewall, adware, spyware program.. but the one care is worth the money if decide you would like to buy it

Only mod 'Services' and 'Startup' and be sure that you're choices are correct.

If msconfig doesnt work for you, download "Autoruns" from systernals.com. Autoruns is the one I use as it is pretty much the best, but you need to know a little more about what you are doing. Start your PC in safe mode, then run from there.

that thinking right there is why people get the shit they get. If you think virus's, spyware, phishing, etc.. doesn;t happen because of the computer you are on rather than the shit you do then you need to read a bit more.

i have to second Kaiser's recommendation. I usually just go into the registry and msconfig, user profile etc.. manually and wipe the stuff that isn't necessary but this util shows all on 1 spot.

Besides, people shouldn't really be rooting around in the registry or msconfig tool unless they know what they are doing.

Why do I need to read more when I have had my IMAC and Laptop for over a year and no problems and I download from limewire constantly. My electronics equipment I work on is ran on linux too. Linux OS is much better than windows anyday. The last comp I built was windows and all I had was problems with it even when I had corporate antivirus software and routers. If someone on here has MAC and has had alot of viruses let me know.

anyone who has ever used any Apple/Mac product know that right now they are way ahead of any microsoft product.. and that is why I hate they are sharing programs now...
you should treat your computer like you do your own body.. if you keep putting shit in it it will breakdown on you.. when you go to certain websites that are run by advertisements but free to you.. you open yourself up for viruses and othe malware.. Myspace and Yahoo are two of the worst I have seen that will shut your system down in a hurry.. even this forum puts you at risk( no offense to Big A, its just part of being in cyber land) you have to use a good security program..
