Most of us have some small muscular asymmetry between our right and left side of our bodies which is normal since one side will always be dominant. I suffered a shoulder injury this summer and it took me 4 months to be able to lift normally again. Now I have an unusually large difference in size between my right and left side (chest, shoulder arm) because of this injury.
I never stopped lifting but had to start all over again with light weights. I also have prioritized dumb bells over straight bar since I can work both sides just as hard with dumb bells. With the straight bar my strong side tends to take over.
Is there any way I can reduce this asymmetry? Do I need to do some kind of extra work for me left side (the weak side) or do I just keep working out as usual putting equal emphasis on both sides?
